		<description>I can see myself paying for an app that gives me access to numerous artists, but paying for one for each individual artist seems to be a bit to excessive.

This might not be a worthwhile venture for a single independent artist to pursue, but it might be a good idea for a record label that has a decent sized roster of artists and albums.</description>

For a start, the main problem artists have to face - now more than ever - is financing. That's what gave us record labels in the first place.

In this situation, the financing is being done by Caffe Vita. The label is being brought in chiefly for its marketing know-how, but the truth is that there are already tons of companies out there that can be hired to cover this aspect. Already we are seeing the emergence of a sector dedicated to providing artist services (once the domain of the label) for a fee.

All this is great, but promising artists are still strapped for cash and the music investment market is looking pretty grim. It does not bode well for the future.</description>
